Buyers at the upcoming fashion market will find several new showrooms at the Cooper Design Space. Among them is Lefties—a new showroom that occupies the former Movement Showroom space. Owned by Ellen Cope and Melissa Naguiat, former Movement staffers, Lefties retains many of Movement’s women’s contemporary lines and adds several new lines to the mix. “We kept almost all of the [Movement] lines when we bought the showroom,” Cope said. “The vibe is the same; we just mixed it up and made [the showroom] more versatile. We brought in denim, edgier brands and brands that are a little bit more sophisticated.” The 2,000-square-foot space is now home to 11 apparel and accessories brands.

Still on the roster are Kettle Black, a contemporary apparel and accessories line; Jen’s Pirate Booty, a dress and tunic line; and Daughters of the Revolution, a print-heavy dress line. New additions include Tigerlily, an Australian apparel and swim line owned by Billabong’s parent company; Hellz, the street-chic line formerly known as Hellz Bellz; Dar-Ti, the showroom’s most sophisticated collection; Eternal Sunshine Creations, a novelty sweater collection; Otis&Maclain, a line of crisp silk blouses; and Kima Norway, a London-based premium-denim collection.

“We’re the same friendly faces. We just gave more to offer,” Cope said. The additions give the showroom a more broad appeal, she added. Wholesale prices at the showroom range between $30 to $360, with most falling in the $40 to $120 range. Cope and Naguiat celebrated the launch of their showroom March 12 with a party.—Erin Barajas
