Organic-Cotton Sales

Despite a recession that clipped apparel sales in many categories, global organic-cotton apparel and home textile products saw their sales jump by 35 percent in 2009 over the previous year. Retail sales of organic-cotton goods reached $4.3 billion in 2009, according to the Organic Exchange. On average, organic-cotton products have grown around 40 percent a year between 2001 and 2009. Some of the top users of organic cotton are Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Nike Inc.
