ENK to Launch Show in China in 2011

ENK International, the New York–based producer of Coterie, Designers Collective, ENK Vegas, Intermezzo Collections and WSA, is taking the show to China.

ENKChina is set for March 28-31 in Beijing, showing as part of the China International Clothing and Accessories Fair (CHIC).

“It is necessary to U.S. companies to look outside our borders and think globally in terms of growing their brands,” said Elyse Kroll, chairman of ENK International.

ENKChina is hoping to tap into fashion demand from China’s growing middle class, which now numbers more than 300 million, according to ENK. The show will feature women’s collections, men’s collections, children’s collection, footwear and accessories.

CHIC typically draws more than 100,000 attendees to the nearly 330,000-square-foot New China International Exhibition Center. Attendees include distributors and companies looking for joint-venture opportunities. The show features fashion shows and seminars, as well as more than 500 Chinese brands and more than 1,000 international brands from more than 21 countries.

The show will also assist exhibiting companies in finding distribution partners in China, according to Tom Nastos, president of ENK International “The importance of the Chinese market cannot be denied and the necessity of working with the right Chinese distributor is paramount,” he said. “ENKChina at CHIC will help U.S. and international designers make the right contacts to help them succeed in this enormous fashion market.”

The news comes on the heels of ENK’s decision to shutter its Brighte show in Los Angeles (see related story here). For more information about ENK’s trade shows, see www.enkshows.com.—Alison A. Nieder
