SwimShow Announces Addition of Lingerie

Come July 2011, buyers at the SwimShow trade show will find an entirely new category to shop. SwimShow, the largest swimwear show in the world, will add a lingerie category to its annual trade show, which is set to run July 17–20 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Fla.

“Our No. 1 priority is to ensure a beneficial, productive and enjoyable experience for all our attendees. By adding lingerie to our show mix, we are, in effect, saving our retailers time and money and giving them the opportunity to source more product,” said Judy Stein, SwimShow’s organizer, in a statement. Organizers are not sure how big the lingerie component of SwimShow will be but expect the category will be given its own section within the show.

SwimShow, produced by the Swimwear Association of Florida, is the anchor for a handful of swimwear trade shows and fashion shows that take place in Miami Beach every July. IMG’s runway lineup—Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim; Salon Allure, a new boutique swimwear show; and a variety of independently produced fashion shows—are all timed to coincide with the SwimShow.—Erin Barajas
