L.A. Fashion Week: One-Degree Separation from Iman

Be sure to ask Mike Vensel lots of questions about Iman when you see him at the Concept L.A. Fashion Week Shows this weekend.

The designer, photographer, Kitten magazine publisher and Concept co-organizer and participant is among the designers who will compete on “The Fashion Show,” Bravo’s fashion reality show, which returns on Nov. 9 for a second season with an awesome new judge--Iman.

Now dubbed “The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection,” the show will again feature designer Isaac Mizrahi as host and judge, along with Iman and Harper’s Bazaar Director of Features/Special Projects Laura Brown.

In addition to Vensel, the designer lineup includes Golnessa Farmanara and Cindy Ayvar, also based in Los Angeles. Farmanara and Ayvar co-design a collection called Goci and Farmanara is also an assistant designer at DeanZign.

Apparel News covered Goci when the collection showed at Project Ethos. As long as I’m connecting L.A. fashion dots, Project Ethos will return to the L.A. Fashion Week lineup on Oct. 22.

Concept kicks off with a party tomorrow, but be sure to catch Vensel’s runway show on March 15 at the Spring Arts Tower in downtown L.A.
