L.A. Fashion Week Spring 2011: Pavonine
Pavonine, a fledgling contemporary brand out of Los Angeles, hosted a presentation of “Sidewalks,” its Spring 2011 collection at the Mondrian Hotel’s Skybar in Hollywood on Oct. 13.
Designed by twins Jenny and Brie Maletz and Jessica Solomon, the collection featured wearable, feminine staples with an “urban girl on safari” vibe. Abstracted tie-dyed prints mixed with stripes, color blocking and solids added a punch of color and visual interest to clean basics, which included a one-shoulder romper, slouchy blouses, woven racer-back tanks, cropped pleated trousers and ladylike dresses.—Erin Barajas
