Boot Barn Acquired by Investment Firm

Boot Barn Inc., one of California’s top purveyors of Western and cowboy fashions, announced it had been acquired by affiliates of Freeman Spogli & Co., which maintains offices in Los Angeles and New York.#8232; Boot Barn was previously owned by investment firm Marwit Capital. Freeman Spogli purchased Boot Barn for an undisclosed amount.

#8232;Boot Barn Chief Executive Patrick Meany and the current executive team will continue to run the Irvine, Calif.–headquartered company, which has 85 stores and an e-commerce shop (www.bootbarn.com), said Brad Brutocao, a general partner of Freeman Spogli.

#8232;The new management is forecast to spur growth, Meany said. “Freeman Spogli’s expertise in the retail and consumer industries will be an important resource to us as we grow into new markets and expand our e-commerce presence,” Meany said.
