Sites Partner Up for Indie Flash Sales

Palo Alto, Calif.–based e-commerce website Moxsie (www.moxsie.com), which specializes in selling indie and up-and-coming labels, has partnered with Montreal-based online private-shopping club Beyond the Rack (www.beyondtherack.com) to host flash sales featuring Moxsie’s roster of designers and brands.

Beyond the Rack’s members will gain access to Moxsie merchandise through a series of monthly four-day Moxsie designer sales, which will include sportswear, accessories and footwear items. The “Emerging Designer Event” sales recently featured Dolce Vita, Hellz and Tulle.

“Our end-of-season goods from indie designers are still incredible products,” said Moxsie Chief Executive Officer Jon Fahrner. “Rather than mark them down and put them in some dark corner as if they were rejects, we were looking for a way to highlight them in a positive way and use them to extend the reach of our designers.”

Fahrner sees the partnership between a full-price e-tailer and a flash-sale site as a positive way to expose smaller manufacturers to a larger community of potential new fans.

Beyond the Rack recently merged with flash-sale operator TheTopSecret.com and has grown to more than 2.5 million members in the United States and Canada.—Connie Cho
