YMI Inks Deals for Tops, Dresses and Lingerie

Juniors lifestyle brand YMI is adding new categories to its growing collection, which includes outerwear, footwear, handbags, accessories—and its core business, denim.

The Los Angeles company recently struck a deal with Montreal-based NTD Apparel, which will produce the collection of knit and woven shirts, dresses and sweaters.

Wholesale prices will range from $10 to $20 for tops and $15 to $25 for dresses.

“NTD shares our vision for the YMI brand,” said YMI President David Vered. “Their exceptional product development supports our firm commitment to offering great product at a great price.”

The deal also helps NTD broaden its foothold in the juniors market, according to company President Michael Eliesen.

“We have been seeking a brand for our company to deepen our retail penetration in juniors and girls, particularly in the U.S.,” Eliesen said. “YMI—with its outstanding product, marketing and distribution—is the perfect brand to help us achieve our objectives in our women’s division.”

Last month, YMI signed a licensing agreement with New York–based Madison Avenue Intimates for a collection of branded lingerie, sleepwear, bras and panties.

The new collections will be part of the full offerings of YMI lifestyle merchandise showing at the upcoming MAGIC Marketplace, set for Feb. 14–16 in Las Vegas.
