Lunching With Moschino and Fred Segal Couture

The L.A. fashion flock turned out over the weekend for an exclusive preview of the Moschino Fall/Winter collection in Hollywood. Held in collaboration with Fred Segal Couture, the event was a chic poolside affair. Stylists, clients and editors gathered to enjoy cocktails, lunch and beautiful clothing. The event marked the debut of the Fall/Winter 2011 collection following the Milan runway show.

It was a great opportunity to get up close and personal and view the luxe leopard fur suits, gorgeous gowns, fringed cocktail dresses and chic metallic coats (many of which I am now coveting greatly!) Guests were able to see runway looks on live models and shop from the ready-to-wear collection. This is the first stop on a series of trunk shows around the country.

Guests could feel good about pre-purchasing from the collection as 20% of the proceeds benefitted LAND – Los Angeles Nomadic Division. According to Michelle Stein, President of Aeffe, USA they came to Los Angeles to not only present the Moschino collection, but to also support the local community. “We decided to partner with [LAND] because we feel they are such an amazing organization here in Los Angeles with their objective of bringing art to the public arena,” said Stein. “If you can bring beautiful clothing and partner with one of the best retailers in the United States and also be involved in community initiatives that are important for the people that live in the area, what could be better?”

The progressive nature of LAND is to commission new projects with contemporary artists in the public realm - essentially doing museum quality shows outside of the museum. LAND will host its first art auction benefit party on May 5 at the Palihouse. For more info go to www.nomadicdivision.org
