Jill Powers Joins Gerber Technology

Tolland, Conn.–based Gerber Technology has hired Jill M. Powers as its new senior account executive for sewn products for the West Coast region of the United States, including California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, Wyoming, Montana, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Idaho.

Powers formerly served as the vice president of strategic accounts and global accounts director for Lectra USA and has more than 15 years of experience in the apparel, retail and textile sectors. Headquartered in Paris, Lectra focuses on integrated technology solutions—including software, hardware and associated services—for industries using textiles, leather and industrial fabrics.

“I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with the various players in the sewn-products industry, which encompasses everything from apparel to accessories to costumes to furniture to automotive interiors,” Powers said. “Although the industries are very different, they all have a common thread of wanting to solve their challenges through automation. I love working with the customers to identify their challenges and then working with them toward the best solution.”

Gerber Technology provides ply cutting, laser templating and laser metrology solutions for the aerospace, fabrication and construction markets; product lifecycle management (PLM), product data management (PDM) and CAD software for the retail, footwear and apparel businesses; automated cutting hardware for the packaging industry; and sewn-products solutions, including textile cutting and spreading systems, to apparel and flexible-materials manufacturers.

“Jill has had in-depth exposure to all aspects of the business, including solution sales, marketing and project management,” said Bud Staples, vice president of North American sales for Gerber. “She has also managed complex client relationships that included thorough post-sales follow-up, so she can see things from both the business side and the customer side. I believe her clients will be delighted by her attention to detail and her level of customer care. We are extremely pleased to welcome her to our organization.”—Deidre Crawford
