Seems like the sky is falling around all those trade shows in Las Vegas.

Thunder, lightning and a flash-flood warning provided a dramatic break from the Las Vegas heat for visitors to the Las Vegas apparel, accessories and sourcing shows.

On Wednesday, buyers braved the weather and long taxi-cab lines to head out to the shows held across the city.

The National Weather Service said parts of Las Vegas, particularly in the north, received as much as 1.5 inches of rain on Wednesday morning. Flights were delayed off and on at McCarran International Airport. The erratic plane departure schedule hampered many trade-show goers' attempts to get home quickly.

"I don't have any hard numbers on average delay time or how many flights have been affected. But what I can say is there have been delays with the weather," said airport spokesman Chris Jones. "I would encourage people to check ahead of time to see when their flights are leaving. I can say aircraft is still taking off and landing."
