New York–based J. Crew has written a love letter to Los Angeles in the form of its website announcing its new Point Sur Denim collection.

Made in downtown Los Angeles and named for Point Sur State Park, the collection features four styles: the Slim Stacker Selvedge Jean, the Vintage X-Rocker Selvedge Jean, the Vintage Cropped Jean, and the Hightower Skinny Jean.

But it was the unabashed love for LA—and acknowledgement of our city’s status as the "heartbeat" of the denim community—that caught my eye.

The line boasts ringspun denim from the U.S. (Cone Mills) and Japan, as well as hand-crafted rivets and labels. The vintage-inspired line has a double belt on the back loop and hand-picked thread on the selvedge styles to make the red selvedge thread pop.

Check out the site’s slideshows, featuring beautiful shots of downtown Los Angeles, as well as pretty factory shots showing piles of Point Sur jeans and giant bolts of denim ready be cut.

If I didn’t already live here, the Point Sur site would make me pack my bags and head to sunny California.
