The Sample Sale Trail
Most sample sales we hear about are in the showroom buildings located in the Los Angeles Fashion District.
But two upcoming sample sales from high-end labels are taking place at their company headquarters.
For cashmere fans, a two-day sale on May 7 and May 8 is being held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. by 360Sweater and its Skull Cashmere division at 1522F Cloverfield Blvd., in Santa Monica. 360Sweater was launched in 2009 by husband-and-wife team Leslie and Bruce Gifford after they sold their sweater.com business in 2006.
Two years ago, they launched an edgier collection, called Skull Cashmere, that is under the creative vision of their son, Andrew, based in New York.
Not far away, in Marina del Rey, James Perse is holding a sample sale at its headquarters at 4144 Glencoe Ave. The brand's style is very clean and sophisticated with great high-end fabric.
Sample sale hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m on May 9 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 10. Cash and credit cards are being accepted.
