Vintage Fashion Expo Coming to LA

What goes around, comes around, and that is so true in fashion.

If you want to check out some of the vintage fashions that have graced the style pages since the late 18th century to the 1990s, you might want to visit the upcoming Vintage Fashion Expo, scheduled to take place Oct. 17-18 at The Reef, formerly called the LA Mart, at 1933 S. Broadway.

The event, held five times a year in San Francisco and Los Angeles, is filled with booths of vintage fashion, accessories and jewelry. Celebrity Dita Von Teese will have her own booth where she will be selling pieces from her personal collection as well as pieces from her vintage-inspired lingerie.

Vintage Fashion Expo has been going strong for almost 30 years. It was launched in 1987 by a small group of dealers in San Francisco who recognized the growing interest in vintage fashion among designers.

Vintage Fashion Expo is still operated by a group of partners who are dealers themselves. They are Fred Dueball and Elizabeth Normoyle of Luxe vintage in San Francisco; Robert and Kristi Alvarez of Vintage Blue Moon of Los Angeles; and Kyle Deise and Kari Smith of Regeneration Vintage, also in Los Angeles.
