L.A. Fashion Week Spring '06: Harajuku Lovers

The Hollywood Museum in the Max Factor Building was the scene of the season’s most hush-hush party held during Los Angeles Fashion Week. Thrown in honor of Harajuku Lovers, the collaboration between pop star Gwen Stefani and Van Nuys, Calif.–based manufacturer Jerry Leigh Entertainment, the Oct. 21 bash attracted a see-and-be-seen crowd.

The line of novelty apparel is geared for the masses, but the Harajuku Lovers launch party and fashion installation drew some of Hollywood’s elite. Stefani herself made an appearance (with her Harajuku girls in tow, of course) after a show at the Hollywood Bowl. Actor Ashton Kutcher, his actress wife, Demi Moore, and actress Daryl Hannah partied beneath items from the line, which were hung from the ceiling.

“We’re very excited for this opportunity to showcase the line,” said Jeff Silver, Jerry Leigh’s chief financial officer. But his tween-aged daughter seemed more excited about the possibility of seeing Stefani—a feeling Jerry Leigh Entertainment hopes will send millions like her to the mall. —Erin Barajas
