Feel a Draft: Jasmin Shokrian's Draft No. 17 Trunk Show
With a tuck here and a gather there, Jasmin Shokrian’s designs are like modern art sculptures rendered in fluid fabric. The local designer’s name hit nationwide attention in May when one of her skirts landed on the most of-the-moment celebrity, Michelle Obama.
Tomorrow Shokrian will host a trunk show at Creatures of Comfort in Los Angeles featuring her latest diffusion line, Draft No. 17. The line is “based on different declinations of the slip dress,” where Shokrian used her friends as muses for the first capsule last Spring. She continues to stretch the slip dress thesis with tops, pants, jackets and jumpsuits, some of which can be had for immediate gratification at the event and some of which may be pre-ordered.
The trunk show will be held at Creatures of Comfort, 7971 Melrose Ave., on Aug. 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. Creatures of Comfort will offer 15 percent off all Draft No. 17 pre-orders and new arrivals in the store.
