Avedon Debuts Beverly Hills Boutique

There must be no better time to open a store, according to Yasmine Farmanara and her business partner Reza Shekarchian. On Nov. 12, they opened their Avedon boutique at 417 N. Canon Drive in Beverly Hills.

The 2,700-square-foot specialty boutique is triple the size of their former Los Angeles Avedon store, which was located at 322 S. Robertson Blvd. The Robertson boutique specialized in men’s suiting and premium denim and will be closed, Farmanara said. The bigger footprint of the Beverly Hills store will allow them space to offer both men’s and women’s fashions.

Another reason for the Beverly Hills debut is a better real estate market for retailers. When Farmanara and Shekarchian opened on Robertson in 2006, it was hard to find commercial space in top retail neighborhoods. Since economic hard times began in late 2008, good space has been a lot easier to come by, she said, even in Beverly Hills. Avedon also offers fashion lines such as Agave, Belvest, Etro, Boglioli, Rozae Nichols and Flavio Castellani.
