REVOLVE Parties For The Relaunch

Big changes on REVOLVEClothing.com's home page.

A relaunch of an e-commerce website is a good reason to throw a party.

When the influential REVOLVEclothing.com announced sweeping changes for its website, it held a gala event Nov. 11 for more than 300 of its best friends and other groovy, fashion people at REVOLVEā€™s physical store at 8452 Melrose Ave. in West Hollywood.

For festivities, rock band Gift Horse Project played smashing cover of classic song Children of the Revolution and DJ Harley Viera Newton spun sounds as revelers nibbled on Indonesian tacos from the Komodo food truck and ice cream sandwiches from the Coolhaus desert truck. Model Lauren Bush graced the event with her appearance. Also showing up for the fun were Los Angeles designers Donna Mizani, who runs her self-named Donna Mizani label, and William Anzevino of Laugh Cry Repeat by AFZN. Mavens of the showroom scene such as Eric Martin and Kristen Aguilera of The Park Showroom dropped by as well as Chris Josol of 722 Figueroa and MarilynRodriguez of Room. Revolve co-owner Michael Mente said the innovations to the REVOLVE website are some of its biggest changes of its seven years of business. The new REVOLVE site offers social networking functions and fun features such as shoppers hosting their own boutiques on the fashion forward e-commerce site. These mini-e-commerce sites run something like this; consumers recommend different brands on their boutiques, and if the mini- boutique makes sales for REVOLVE, the owner of the mini e-boutique gets a commission from Mente and company. Yowza!
