Style Week Orange County's Big Winner

The Third Annual Style Week Orange County set the stage for fashion shows and design competitions in the past week at the Irvine Spectrum Center mall in Irvine, Calif.
On the weekend of Oct. 2, fashion man about town and occasional California Apparel News blogger Nick Verreos hosted these competitions and also produced a fashion show for his gown line Nikolaki.
But the designer who made the biggest splash was Julia Nish. The graduate from Fashion Insitute of Design Merchandising’s Los Angeles campus, won a gown competition produced by car line Cadillac.
She also won and the Needle Thread competition produced by surf and skate lifestyle line Ezekiel. Nish got $6,000 in prize money from Cadillac and Ezekiel. Some of her award-winning designs will be carried in Ezekiel’s Spring 2011 line.
