Debuts for Basil, HlubTray

It was a night for debuts. Los Angeles-based lines Basil and HlubTray took at bow May 5 at theRAW:natural born artists showcase at the Playhouse nightclub in Hollywood. Basil debuted its Spring/Summer 2011 line. RAW was the first runway show for HlubTray.
Basil’s look is one of vibrant colors and flowing dresses said designer Jose Basil Malicsi. He is interning for the Trina Turk fashion house and will be graduating from California State University, Long Beach’s fashion program in 2012.
For the Spring/Summer 2011 line, Basil worked with silks, sequins and beading for the line's gowns. One notable look was a gold silk gown covered in sequins. The top half of the gown was beaded with fabric shaped like tiny flowers, which are called rosettes. The back featured a see-through mesh.
HlubTray is Tracy Hang’s first line. HlubTray showed 11 looks which featured form fitting minidresses, leggings and crop tops.
