Cooper’s Art Above The Streets

Homeowners, businesses, aesthetes have all registered mighty complained about billboards as blocking their views, causing car crashes or being eyesores. But London-based artist Robert Montgomery sees beauty in the billboard.

He posted 10 poems on billboards across Los Angeles this year. The poems were bought down to size recently however. Portrait sized versions of his billboard poems were posted in the Gateway Gallery of the Cooper Design Space in Los Angeles’ fashion district. An opening reception was held for the show called “Above The Streets” during the Downtown Art Walk. The show was curated by the Do Art Foundation. It will stay up until Oct. 6
