Ready for More John Varvatos?
John Varvatos Enterprises announced that it will open a big 3,500-square-foot boutique in Fashion Valley, a Simon-owned regional mall in San Diego.
Varvatos, an award-winning, menswear designer, announced that the store will open on Aug. 15. It is said to be the 23th location in the fleet of John Varvatos stores around the world.
The store will offer Varvatos lines such as John Varvatos Collection, John Varvatos Star U.S.A. and Converse by John Varvatos. Like other Varvatos stores, the design of the San Diego stores will feature photo portraits of rock stars. A statement from John Varvatos Enterprises said that the boutique’s ground will feature wood flooring. Walls will feature white brick. The store also will feature custom-crafted benches, oversize mirrors as well as unique lamps and chandeliers.
Other Varvatos boutiques feature photo portraits of rock heroes such as Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, brick walls and unique lighting, perhaps reminiscent of a rock club. In 2008, Varvatos opened a boutique at the site of the former CBGB rock club where the punk rock movement started. Varvatos goods are also stocked at department stores such as Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom.
In 2000, Varvatos launched his menswear collection which includes footwear, belts, bags, eyewear, fragrance, along with suiting, jeans and outerwear. The Council of Fashion Designers of America have honored Varvatos three times with menswear design awards over the years
