Hail Mary Debuts Denim Bar

Just a little after its first anniversary , the Hail Mary boutique in Santa Monica, Calif. unveiled a big addition. It’s the Hail Mary Denim Bar, which was built in the boutique's VIP room.

The denim bar features a vintage jukebox, a framed, bloody shirt that Bruce Willis wore in the film Die Hard, and lots and lots of denim. One of the reasons to roll out a denim bar was to exhibit the wide display of jeans at Hail Mary, said Marie Kennedy Shaffer, the founder of Hail Mary.

The boutique’s merchandise mix offers big and tall jeans for NBA sized guys, maternity jeans, boot cut, skinny jeans and every kind of fashion look, she said. The denim bar brands include AG Jeans, Goldsign, Paige, Diesel, The Rising Sun Mfg Co., Marc Allison Jeans and Citizens of Humanity.

Marie’s husband, Jim Shaffer, crafted the denim bar furniture from unique materials such as a frame from a 1927 Model-T car, tractor seats fixed to stools, ironworks from Montana ranches and repurposed maple wood from the Pacific Northwest. Take a look.

Hail Mary produced a party on Sept. 19 for the debut of boutique's denim bar. Much of the festivities took place in the courtyard by the boutique.
